ESM was incorporated in 2011 by Steven Morris. The company is based in Stirling, Scotland and currently operates as a syndicated investor group investing in technology companies in Scotland. ESM is currently expanding operations into the North of England.

The founder and Chairman, Steven Morris, is an experienced technology entrepreneur who founded a tech Co in 2000 and cashed out in 2007 giving investors a 20x return on money invested.

The ESM investor-member group comprises of 100+ individuals that meet every 2 months to consider investing in early growth stage technology companies located in Scotland and the North of England.

With a decade of experience and lots of learnings along the way, ESM is an organisation that supports entrepreneurs that support a culture of continuous learning and in understanding the often-conflicting needs of employees, customers, suppliers and shareholders.

What motivates ESM to invest

We invest as a collective. We invest in SEED to growth stage technology companies in Scotland. ESM are now  expanding into the North of England.

We are sector agnostic (yet have priority sectors) and typically invest £100k to £1m per company per investment round. We look to co-invest with other syndicated investment groups, corporate investors, family offices and/or third sector and/or public sector investors.

We make every effort to invest in the right management team, we look for a large market and a proven/validated product offering. And we prefer to invest in defensible IP.
